WHEN: Sunday, May 6, 2018
Registration begins at 12:15 **Walk 1 – 2 p.m.** Pizza and prizes 2-3 p.m.
WHERE: A 3-block “course” at the South Park Blocks between SW Montgomery and SW College streets. Look for the big “START” banner. Walk at your own pace around the course as many times as you can in one hour. The average person walks about 10 laps.
WHY: Raise money for Northwest Pilot Project’s (NWPP) programs and services to help low-income seniors secure housing, transportation and supportive services. For 49 years, NWPP has helped provide a life of dignity and hope to low-income seniors in Multnomah County, touching the lives of 3,000 people each year. Services include: housing placement assistance, eviction prevention, rent assistance, case management, transportation, hygiene and cleaning supplies and more. Show your support and have fun doing it!
WHO: YOU, your family, friends, coworkers, etc. Kids, strollers and dogs on-leash are welcome and encouraged!! Walk on your own or start a team (see below).
START FUNDRAISING! Secure pledges for your participation in the event. Get your pledge sheet and flyers at NWPP (1430 SW Broadway, Suite 200, Portland), call (503) 227-5605, or go to www.nwpilotproject.org. Ask as many people as you can to pledge as much as they can. Please be sure all names have complete and legible addresses. Bring your pledge sheets to the Registration Tent between 12:15 and 12:45 pm, before the event starts.
NOTE: You do not have to collect any money from your pledgers. NWPP will send a statement and thank you note after the event to all those who pledge you. Please provide names and addresses of each pledger. If you have questions, call NWPP at 503-227-5605.
PRIZES, PIZZA, MUSIC, AND FUN!
Prizes include hundreds of dollars in gift certificates from major retailers and area restaurants. All individual walkers who have at least $500 in pledges on their pledge sheet will be eligible to win a new Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! See our website for more information. PARKING: On-street parking is free until 1 pm on Sunday. PSU has three garages (Broadway between SW Harrison & Hall; Broadway between SW Montgomery & Mill; between 12th & 13th on SW Mill), Please note: PSU parking is NO LONGER free.
