We have a variety of meaningful ways you can make a powerful difference in your community…
Would you like to make a significant difference in the lives of others? Elders in Action has been advocating for the needs of older adults for 40 years. Volunteers employ their energy, expertise and enthusiasm to accomplish great things throughout the tri- county area in the following positions:
Personal Advocate: Provides individual assistance to people 60 and older experiencing problems with housing, healthcare, crime or abuse.
Community Educator: Gives public presentations on important topics such as how to avoid scams, fraud, identity theft and how to get help with problems.
Elder Friendly Business Evaluator: Volunteers 60 or older evaluate local businesses for their accessibility and service to older customers.
Elder Friendly Web Evaluator: Volunteers 60 or older evaluate web sites for their readability and ease of use for older customers.
Commission Member: Advocates with public officials to ensure that laws and ordinances protect the needs of older adults. This position is limited to Multnomah County residents.
